Icarus

Kindergarten

Students looked at the painting “Icarus” by Henri Matisse.  They identified the free form shapes the artist used to form a man flying through space.  They made their own Icarus picture by cutting construction paper into free form shapes and gluing them together.  I pre-cut the blue construction paper for the background and the children but up the red, black, and yellow ones themselves.

About Ms. Truong

Hello ~ I teach elementary art at Harmony School of Science in Sugarland, Texas. Sugarland is a suburb just outside of the great city of Houston. We are a public charter school with grades K-5. We have 600 students and each class attends art once a week. This website is here to share what we are learning in art to students, parents, teachers and the community. Enjoy!
